About

Xanadu House, a three-story, 14,500 square foot, wood-framed student row house has provided student housing services since 1976.  General wear and tear, in addition to necessary code updates required a complete modernization of the residential building.

Stanford University Housing Office engaged RIM Architects to provide full architecture upgrade services ranging from Schematic Design through Construction Administration. Interior and exterior renovations included seismic upgrades, fire alarm, sprinkler, electrical and mechanical upgrades, kitchen and bathroom renovations, accessibility upgrades, new site landscaping, interior and exterior finish refurbishment, as well as improvements to the function and organization of the entry and various common areas.

These upgrades add years of life to this student housing facility and is now one of Stanford’s most popular residences on campus.
