About

The Roth House at Stanford University is a century old craftsman style 12,500 SF residence, originally used as a sorority house and currently used as a women’s residence. Several additions over the years have increased its usefulness while maintaining a fine old character that individuates Stanford’s desirable “rowhouses”.

RIM worked closely with the Stanford Housing Office to renovate the Roth House in order to maintain the house’s historic details while bringing more efficiency to the daily functioning of the house and improving safety through seismic and egress attributes. Both students and staff were given ample consideration in the process of designing this renovation in order to make it accessible, secure, comfortable, and valuable to all.
