About

The Readiness Center is the permanent home for three Guam Army National Guard (GUARNG) units – Delta Company (D Co) of the 1st Battalion, 294th Regiment (1-294th), the 721st Army Band, and 1990th Contingency Contracting Team (CCT). The 47,360 SF reinforced concrete building, designed under Anti-Terrorism Force Protection (ATFP) protocols, accommodates 130 occupants. Future expansion is not considered. A detached Maintenance Training Facility (MTF) building is provided to house a vehicle maintenance training bay, spaces for special waste handling, and for flammable materials. The facility was designed to meet Energy Policy Act of 2005 (EPAct05) requirements, and achieved LEED Silver NC V2.2 by USGBC. Sustainable features include use of ultra low flow fixtures for shower facilities that results in water use reduction by 40%, the facility’s low-sloped roof system which uses high albedo material to reduce heat absorption, and the use of low-emitting materials for adhesives and sealants, paints and coatings, and carpet systems.
