About

RIM Architects provided LEED consultant services to achieve the elite sustainability status for the Waikulu Neighborhood, a Marine Corps Housing Development residential community developed by Forest City Military Communities with Woodley Architectural Group.  The 43-acre, 388-home project at Marine Corps Base Kaneohe successfully achieved certification following the LEED program’s rigorous three stage process designed to create exemplary developments that recognize sustainable design practices.

As the Project LEED Architects, RIM successfully teamed with Forest City to achieve their goal of Waikulu Neighborhood becoming the first in the state of Hawai`i to earn the LEED® ND from the U.S. Green Building Council in 2011.  With the achievement of this certification, the project also became the first in the worldwide Department of the Navy privatized military housing portfolio and only the eleventh certification of its kind nationwide.

This project is a LEED for Neighborhood Development Pilot Certification project: Stage 3 Certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.
