About

RIM Architects was the Lead Design Firm for the design-build of the DCGC Intelligence Squadron Operations Facility at Hickam Air Force Base. The contract called for the conversion of an existing 26,308 GSF historical hangar, originally constructed in the late 1930’s, into a SCIF facility, constructing a secure, reinforced CMU concrete facility within the existing hanger as a stand-alone building.

This project was awarded 2010 Grand Award Winner Public Works Division; Category: $10M – $100M; Building Industry Association’s Hawai`i Renaissance Building & Remodeling Award [Contractor: Watts Constructors LLC] and 2010 Build Hawai`i Award of Merit, General Contractors Association of Hawai`i, Design/Build/Assist $1M – $20M.
