About

Cou Paris was designed to house a collection of contemporary art jewelry and accessories featuring a group of Parisian designers. It is located in a small retail lot in the largest mixed-use development in the U.S., Santana Row. Situated at the heart of the expensive urban plan amidst diverse retailers and architecture, Cou was to bring modernity, inventive detail, and the expression of natural material to the human scale experience at the street. This space includes custom-fabricated steel niches with internal display lighting and required special attention to detailing and framing design.

RIM Architects, in conjunction with Sand Studios, provided architectural services to the owner of the Cou Paris retail space with coordination and detailing of the interior construction. RIM assisted the contractor with the coordination and construction, including the required components for sound, security and display.

This project was honored at the 2004 AIA San Francisco Design Awards for: Excellence in Design – Merit Award.
