About

High impact image is important for national retailers and RIM Architects worked together with Best Buy to design functional stores with high visual impact.

The Best Buy Aiea store was fitted into a challenging site between a historic bike trail and the high-traffic Kamehameha Highway. The solution was a compact 2-story structure, providing the needed 50,000 square feet for the store, with a carefully configured parking area and a deep recessed loading dock to maximize customer parking and safe pedestrian access.

To accommodate the amount of parking needed for the Best Buy Honolulu store roof parking was incorporated behind an impressive façade featuring the trademark Best Buy logo against layered colors of the concrete building featuring a specialty paint pattern to replicate similar forms found in Native Hawaiian artworks.
