About

This project consisted in the design and construction of a new 2-story, Aeromedical Services/Mental Health Clinic totaling 34,730 SF, constructed of structural steel with metal stud framing. The project provides spaces designed specifically addressing flight medicine, public health, and mental health clinic needs. Pleasant functional common areas include a vestibule, lobby, hallways, and restrooms.  Supporting facilities were part of the scope, including utilities and surrounding site improvements. The Clinic links directly to the existing Elmendorf Hospital via an enclosed connecting corridor.

An adequately sized and configured Clinic was required to provide modern, cost-effective health care for 3rd Medical Group’s (3MDG) 42,000 beneficiaries. This additional space has been designed to accommodate Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson’s beneficiary growth and resolve existing space constraints.

The completion of the project has enabled several high-demand, spatially constrained clinics (Emergency Services, Orthopedics, and Physical Therapy) to expand services within the existing 3MDG hospital footprint.

This project is certified by the U.S. Green Building Council for LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) at the Gold level.
